no more blogger

Well I've decided to move my blog to Tumblr. The cleanliness of Tumblr's design really excites me and will make me blog more frequently. I'm still working on customizing it, but it's definitely useable now so please update your links and RSS feed. Here is the new site: smalladventure.tumblr.com. It's much cooler looking there, you'll see. :)

i knight thee awesome: nobrow 5!

We bought the book this past weekend and I love it! Each spread is waaayyyyy cool, but I thought I'd share a few of my favorites. By few I mean several. It was hard to narrow it down.

nobrow5-6-72

Rob Hunter (This one is in my top two favorites.)

nobrow5-5-72

Sarah Young

nobrow5-3-72

Meg Hunt (I really like her animal drawings.)

nobrow5-1-72

Kellie Strom

nobrow5-4-72

Jack Hudson (Second of the top two favorites.)

nobrow5-8-72

Lab Partners (It's cool to see these guys in a book with illustrators and cartoonists. I like it when the worlds of craft, illustration and comics come together.)

nobrow5-2-72

Jill Green (Another paper goods illustrator!)

nobrow5-7-72

Bjorn Rune Lie

nobrow5-9-72

Laura Carlin (Laura Carlin is one of my favorite illustrators. This pattern spread is so beautiful, but also funny.)

new 5x7 prints

pheasant2-72

ram3-72

A couple of new prints for sale. Here. The ram was a struggle to finish, but it was a good exercise in problem solving. I like the way it turned out. The pheasant was really fun to paint and came easily. Why the difficulty of these two drawings was so extreme I have no idea. Weird how that happens sometimes.

Also, I'm starting to put up the wood slice paintings I didn't sell up in the shop for sale. They should all be up by today or tomorrow. Thank you all for continuing to follow my little progress blog. It's given me such encouragement.

I only sold one wood slice this past weekend so all the other ones will be going up in the shop soon! I'll let you know when they're all up.

And here's Erin Dollar's booth who debuted her new line of house wares! I think they are quite awesome.

hello friend booth 1

hello friend booth 2

Danni from Oh Hello Friend rented all this amazing found furniture for her booth and put it together in such a pleasing way. Not to mention her handmade wares were so lovely as always.

fugu fugu booth

The Fugu Fugu Press booth shared with Ribbit Stopit (below). Their cards and wooden puzzles and animals go so nicely together. We bought a couple of the Mother's Day cards for our mothers. I'm going to have to buy some of those wooden animals sometime. They're so cool!

ribbit stopit booth

rebe booth

Rebe makes incredible dresses, coats and other small house ware items that are so detailed and of such high quality. I have been desiring one of her dresses for a few years now. Hopefully someday soon... Her daughter, Hillery Sproatt, makes amazing embroidered house wares and drawings. I'd really like to own one of her original drawings.

wolfum booth 1

wolfum booth 2

Wolfum has amazing textiles and prints on wood items such as coasters and animal bookends.

sass peril booth

Sass and Peril make cute tote bags and prints from their simple yet striking graphics.

homako and lulu dee booths

These Lulu Dee and Homako booths are not related I just happened to have them both in the same picture. Lulu Dee makes these adorable prints while Homako creates awesome jewelry pieces out of felt and other materials.

terri planty booth

Terri Planty makes sweet terrariums with tiny people in them. We bought one for Malachi's mom.

eri sugimoto booth

I bought a teacup from Eri Sugimoto's booth. She and her partner make the most beautiful ceramics and they are both so nice.

bedford falls booth

Last but not least, my friend Abby's booth called Bedford Falls Headwear makes gorgeous fancy headwear pieces and created an amazing booth (which I failed to get a good picture of) kind of on the fly while visiting her family here (she brought all her goods from New Orleans).

A couple of my other favorite booths were Kevin Tong Illustration and GreenAid who make seedbombs and super cool sling shots.
